The Broken Hart Ranch is located on the east side of Highway 191, 2 miles south of Gallatin Gateway. This is the same route to both Big Sky and Yellowstone National Park. Approximately 14 miles from Belgrade (airport) or 14 miles from Bozeman.

A country-style Montana wedding at the Broken Hart Ranch/Montana Barn is complete with breath taking views, of mountains vistas, big beautiful skies, and horses. This year-round venue, features a fire pit room, outdoor chapel, carriage service, and seating for 300 or more in a new barn/livery stable style building with over 5,000 square feet of floor space. They can help with all the details that will make your Montana wedding everything you are dreaming of from caterers, to flowers, to photographers. The Broken Hart Ranch invites you to experience the ultimate in fair chase big game elk and deer hunting. Rifle and bow hunts are also available for cougar, moose, and other large game.
Elk Hunts
Montana’s general hunting season runs for 5 weeks, opening on either the third or fourth Sunday of October and closing on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Your non-resident license includes both an elk and deer tag. The general season is open to buck deer and branch-antlered elk only.
Bison Hunts
The Broken Hart Ranch adjoins a private ranch known as the “Flying D,” 113,000 acres with 3,500 free roaming bison. Price of hunt will vary with caliber of animal to be shot. The Premier Trophy bulls will range from 8-13 years old and score 65-75 SCI points. Dry cows (that aren’t pregnant) are the best for eating purposes. All hunts include in-field transportation and in-field dressing. Local meat processors and taxidermists are available to aid in caring for the harvested animal. The hunter gets everything – head, hide and meat. Hunts are scheduled June – December. No license is needed.
Big Horn Sheep Hunts
We hunt 2 of the few remaining areas of North America where Big Horn Sheep permits are available on an unlimited basis. Licenses must be purchased by May 1, but are guaranteed to all who properly apply. We offer 2 hunts, which have continued to give us 1 to several rams each year. The areas are very rugged and difficult to hunt. If your physical condition is above average and you’re willing to hunt hard, your odds are above average. Mountain Goat can be combined with sheep hunts if a goat permit is drawn
