MacKenzie River Pizza Co first opened in Bozeman in 1993, bringing hand-made pizza with a progressive twist to Big Sky country. Today there are 12 MacKenzies throughout Montana, and one in Northern Idaho, offering the unique food, spirit and culture that set the concept apart.

Rustic lodge pole tables and chairs, slate and wood floors, hand-painted murals and historic photographs transport diners to the very heart of the Northern Rockies, setting the tone for distinctive, creatively prepared food served by vibrant, friendly employees renowned for passing their upbeat attitudes on to customers.

“Guests feel something special when they visit us, and it has to do with our passion and the great service we give from the heart,” says one MacKenzie employee. “This is what keeps our guests coming back.”

That, and the delicious food. The acclaimed MacKenzie pizzas are offered on a variety of crusts – sourdough, natural grain, thick and thin – with toppings from classic pepperoni to spicy Caribbean jerk chicken and vegetarian pesto, ricotta and sun-dried tomato. Pizza names reflect their surroundings – the Rancher, Rustler, Good ‘ol Boy and Cottonwood pies complement offerings like Cowboy Nachos (piled with house-roasted chicken or pulled pork, melted cheese and salsa), hearty sandwiches served warm on fresh baked bread (the Willow Creek has attained near-mythic status statewide), full and half-sized entrée salads, grilled Italian Panini (for lighter appetites), chicken chili and oven-baked lasagnas.

Room for dessert? Try the signature baked cast-iron pan cookie topped with Montana-made ice cream or the renowned molten lava cake.

Delivery and carry-out are available of course, but it is the restaurant experience that sets MacKenzie apart. A combination of great food, atmosphere and employees filled with the positive energy of the outdoors add up to something truly special, living up to MacKenzie’s mission statement: “Life is short. Enjoy what you do, and do it well”.
