| The Moss Mansion is a unique historical look into the wealthy lifestyle that was present in the early 1900s. This turn-of-the-century mansion built in 1902 for Preston B. Moss, a Billings banker, has become a monument to the wealth of Montana in those early years. The house cost $105,000 to build when the average house cost only $3000. The three-story home contains original furnishings of Preston B. Moss and the grounds are well-kept with magnificent gardens of perennials, annuals and roses. The architect was Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, designer of the original Waldorf Astoria, Astoria, Plaza, and other fine hotels. Regular tours are also available. The mansion is open to the public with admission charged. | ||||||||
