The campground is located on the Koocanusa Reservoir. There are 33 sites with 25 pull throughs with no hookups. Libby Dam is nearby. Sites are large and in a heavily wooded area. No sites have a view of the reservoir. There are a few sites designed for bicyclists. Each site has a table and fire ring. The Koocanusa Reservoir is a 46,500-acre reservoir where boating and fishing for Kokanee Salmon, Whitefish, and Rainbow and Brown Trout are popular. Vault toilets and 8 water spigots are available. Libby Dam is nearby. Open seasonal Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. $10/day fee with a maximum stay of 14 days.
DIRECTIONS: In Libby, MT, take State Rt. 37 north 15 miles to McGillivray Recreation Area sign (Forest Rt. 228). Turn left at sign onto Rt. 228 and go 10.2 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 0.5 miles to the campground.
