The campground is located on the hillside above Thain Creek. A few trailheads start at the campground. Fishing for Rainbow and Brook Trout are popular in the creek. There are 20 sites each with a table and fire ring. Vault toilets and 2 water spigots available. Open seasonal May 26 through November 15. $5/day fee with a maximum stay of 14 days.
DIRECTIONS: From Great Falls, MT, take US Rt. 89 east 3.3 miles to Highwood/State Rt. 228 sign. At the sign, turn left onto State Rt. 228 and go 13.9 miles to stop sign. Continue straight onto gravel and dirt roadway, following Thain Creek signs, and go 10.1 miles to "T" intersection. Turn right, following Thain Creek signs, and go 7.2 miles to "Y" intersection. Bear left and go 1.1 miles to Recreation Area sign. Continue straight another 0.3 miles to campground.
